Red-winged Blackbird

Red-winged Blackbirds have different characteristics depending on whether they are male or female; the males are black with red shoulders and yellow wing bars, while the females have brown shades of color. These birds eat seeds, grain, insects like dragonflies and moths, and sometimes other small animals like snails and worms. They are also drawn to bird feeders by seed mixtures, suet and bread.
